*KASU HOLDS SENSITIZATION EXERCISE FOR ITS STUDENTS ON NELFUND LOAN*


The Kaduna State University carried out a National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) sensitization exercise for its students at the university's 1000-seater Auditorium on Thursday, 5th September 2024. This timely event was spearheaded by the Student Affairs Division of the University. 


The welcome address was delivered by the Dean Student Affairs, Prof. Tukur Abdulkadir who warmly welcomed staff and students alike. He urged all present to listen carefully as crucial matters would be clarified about the NELFUND Loans.


The NELFUND Sensitization lecture was delivered by the Director of ICT, Engr. Martins Sambo who in his presentation outlined crucial steps to be taken in order to acquire the student loan. He implored the students to take advantage of the loans that have been made available for them by the Federal Government to lighten up their financial burdens while in school.

The students were afterwards given the floor to air their views, ask questions, and express challenges on the NELFUND loan application procedure.


The Dean of Student Affairs Division, in his closing remarks, stated that a more thorough sensitization exercise would be carried out as there are a lot of pressing student issues to be addressed and sorted. He also urged the students to take their future seriously and work towards speaking up to the appropriate authorities when in distress. In his words, their greatest asset is not their face but their brains.


The Deputy Dean of the Student Affairs Division, Dr. Muhammad Kabiru Dauda, also assured the students that the Student Affairs Office is always open to tackle any and all of their challenges during their academic years on campus.


Attendees include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, Deputy Registrar, Student Affairs Division, Mrs. Florence Suleiman, Mal. Isyaku Salihu, Head, Guidance and Counselling, Chief Security Officer, Col. (Rtd) Ahmed Yabagyi, Head, e-learning and training, Hajiya Rasheeda I. Abdulkadir, Head Software Development, Mal. Haruna Sa'eed, Head, Systems Support Unit, Mrs. Jennifer Bilkisu Tache amongst others.
